Alright, so I wanted to figure out who the best volleyball player in the world is, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey!

First off, I started by searching around for some basic info on volleyball. I mean, I know the game, but I wanted to get a bit more background. I quickly learned that the FIVB is the big boss when it comes to volleyball all over the world. They’re the ones who run all the major tournaments and stuff. So, they seemed like a good place to start.
Then I went to look for information about individual players. I wanted to see who is doing well currently. I found out that the FIVB has something called Senior World Rankings for both men’s and women’s national teams. Seems like the players on those teams would be pretty good, right?
- I started digging into these rankings, checking out which countries were on top.
- I figured the best players are probably on the best teams.
- Countries like Brazil, the USA, Japan, and Germany were right up there.
- So, I started looking into players from these countries.
Next, I tried to see if there were any recent awards or something like that. You know, something that would just straight up tell me who the best player is. Turns out, from January 10 to 16, they did a countdown of the top 12 players for each gender in 2021. That was a while back, but still helpful!
As I kept looking for more, I found out about a player named Bruno Rezende, also known as Bruninho. This guy is a big deal in Brazil, and it seemed like he was always mentioned when talking about top players.
After all this searching and reading, I realized there isn’t one single answer. It is pretty subjective, and it probably depends on what you’re looking for in a player. But based on my research, players on the top-ranked national teams, especially someone like Bruninho from Brazil, are definitely among the best in the world. I am not sure if I can say for sure who THE best is, but I sure learned a lot about volleyball along the way!
It was a fun little project, and now I have a whole new appreciation for the sport. I even feel like watching some matches now!
