Today, I was curious about the lineup for the England versus Greece national football teams. So, I did a little digging around to see what I could find. Turns out, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it’d be!
First, I tried to pinpoint the exact match they were talking about. I found mentions of two different UEFA Nations League Group B2 games. One was supposed to be on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, at Wembley Stadium, and another was set for Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at Athens Olympic Stadium. So, I realized I needed to pick a game before diving into the lineups.
I decided to focus on the game at Wembley Stadium because that was mentioned more often in my findings. I figured that’d be the one with the most available information. It’s just my guess, though.
Then, I went on a hunt for the lineups. I stumbled upon a predicted lineup for England, which looked like they were going for a 4-2-3-1 formation. They had Pickford in goal, Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Guehi, and Lewis in defense, Mainoo and Rice in midfield, and Saka, Palmer, Gordon, and Kane upfront. Pretty solid, I gotta say.

Seemed like they were ready to give England a run for their money!

It also mentioned Gibbs-White as a sub. It’s possible this was for a different game, or maybe just an older prediction.

Honestly, it was a bit of a wild goose chase, piecing together information from different places. But it was kind of fun, like solving a little puzzle. I wish there was one go-to place for all this, but hey, it’s all part of the adventure, right?
In the end, I got a decent idea of what the lineups might look like, at least for the predictions. Of course, things can always change on match day, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
