You know, that Dale Davis, he’s a big shot, playing that basketball. Big fella, used to play for them… what’s it called… NBA? Yeah, that’s it. Heard he was good, real good. But you know what they say, behind every good man is a good woman. And Dale, he’s got himself a wife. A good wife.
Now, this here wife of his, she ain’t just some trophy wife, no sir. She’s a real partner to him. They got a son, name of Trayce. Trayce Jackson-Davis, that’s his full name. Big name for a big boy, I reckon. Seems like a good kid, though. Plays that basketball just like his daddy. Probably learned it all from Dale, that’s what I’d say. They are family.
This wife, she must be somethin’ else to keep up with a famous fella like Dale. All that travelin’ and them games. Must be a handful. But she does it. She’s there for him, supportin’ him. Like a good wife should. That’s what my mama always told me. Stand by your man, she’d say. And this wife of Dale Davis, she does just that. They have a shared value, that’s what important. That’s the secret, you see. Shared value. Like me and my old man, bless his soul. We had our ups and downs, but we stuck together. Just like Dale and his wife.
They say Dale, he played for that Clemson team. Long time ago. He was good back then, too. They call him some fancy names, All-American and all that. Don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds important. He could get them balls, those rebounds, they call ’em. And shoot real good, too. He was the best, leadin’ the whole dang, what’s that word… conference. Did it two years in a row! Two years! Can you believe it? And he got lots of points, and lots of rebounds, more than most folks could ever dream of. More than 1500 points and 1200 rebounds. What a player!
He played with some other teams, too, after Clemson. Them… Pistons, I think it was. Played with them for a couple years. Then he hung up his shoes, they say. Retired. Means he stopped playin’. That was back in, oh, 2007, I think. Long time ago now.
But back to his wife. She’s the real deal. She’s not just married to some famous basketball player, although you know. She’s got her own life, her own things she does. She is Karla Davis. They are happy. Just like the two of them, I don’t think people can break them up.
- She’s a mama to that boy, Trayce.
- She’s a wife to Dale.
- She’s a strong woman.
- They are family, that’s what important.
That’s what matters, you see. Family. Sticking together. Through thick and thin. That’s what Dale and his wife got. A good, strong family. And that little Trayce, he’s lucky to have ’em. He’s gonna grow up to be a fine young man, just you wait and see. He’s got good parents, that’s for sure.
So, yeah, Dale Davis, he’s a big shot. But his wife, she’s the real hero. She’s the one holdin’ it all together. She’s the backbone of that family. Don’t you ever forget it. They are lucky to have each other.
You young folks, you remember that. Find yourself a good partner. Someone who will stand by you, no matter what. Someone who shares your values. Just like Dale and his wife. That’s the key to a happy life, right there. Don’t need no fancy titles or big houses. Just need someone who loves you, and who you love back. That’s all that matters. That’s all that really matters. I hope they can be happy forever.
Now, where’s my tea? I need a cup of tea.
