Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get back into basketball for a while now. I used to play a lot in high school, but life happened, you know? Anyway, I finally decided to check out some adult basketball leagues around Rockland County. It took some digging, but I found some options.
First, I started searching online for some information. It took some time to get really useful information. But I found that there is an organization called “Big League Sports”. They seem to be a pretty big deal around here, offering kickball, touch football and other stuff. They mentioned on their website they are the biggest coed social sports league in Rockland County.
Then I found they also have leagues in Westchester and Fairfield, which is pretty cool, I guess. I also noticed they have stuff like kickball, softball, and volleyball, but I was really focused on basketball.
I also saw something about a YMCA Men’s Basketball League. That sounded promising. The idea of competing against the “best adult competition” in the county was exciting. Plus, getting some “late-night cardio” seemed like a good bonus. I wrote down that they play on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 pm to 11 pm.
I spent a good chunk of time looking into these. It seemed like the YMCA one was a solid choice if I want to play with friends. I called them for some more information but they didn’t pick up the phone so I have to call them some other time.
So, yeah, that’s my progress so far. I’ve got a couple of leads, and I’m going to do more research on these leagues. Hopefully, I’ll be back on the court soon! It’s all about taking that first step, right? I’ll keep you guys updated on how it goes.
- Call YMCA again to make sure I can join the game.
- Ask my friends if they want to play together.
- Buy a new basketball.

It is a great experience to play basketball again!
