Okay, here’s my experience with the Marine Sports filleting knife, shared like a blog post:
So, I’ve been needing a decent filleting knife for a while now. My old one, well, let’s just say it was more of a “buttering” knife at this point. I saw the Marine Sports one, the “faca fileteira,” and figured, “Why not?” It looked pretty slick, and the price wasn’t going to break the bank.

Getting Down to Business
Next up, I had to, well, use it! I’d caught a few good-sized fish earlier, so they were my test subjects. I grabbed the first one, a nice bass, and laid it on my cutting board.
My first cut was along the back, behind the gills. Honestly, the blade slid through like it was nothing. Seriously, way smoother than my old knife. I followed the backbone, peeling the fillet away from the ribs. The blade’s flexibility was perfect – it bent just enough to keep me close to the bone without feeling flimsy.

So, final verdict? I’m definitely keeping this knife. It’s a huge improvement over my old one, and it made the whole filleting process way easier and faster. If you’re looking for a good, affordable filleting knife, I’d say give the Marine Sports “faca fileteira” a shot. You might be surprised!
