Okay, so I wanted to dig into this whole volleyball scene in the Dominican Republic. First thing I did was hit up the internet, trying to get a feel for what teams are out there and how they’re doing. I started looking around for recent games and scores, you know, just to get the lay of the land.

I found out about some senior players, Geise, Paige Wagner, Maddie Kleemeyer, and Emma Eko, playing their last games in a Pirates’ uniform. That got me thinking about the history of these teams and how they change over time. I mean, players come and go, right? It’s like a revolving door.
- Then I bumped into the NCAA Women’s Volleyball rankings, both DII and DI.
- It seems like there’s a ton of action going on.
- I saw names like Mossyrock and Napavine popping up a lot, and Ilwaco and Raymond/South Bend had some kind of showdown recently.
I tried to piece together the different leagues, like the Pacific League and this State 2B Tournament. It felt like a bit of a puzzle, but I was getting there. This team, Manson, they totally crushed Warden in straight sets. That must have been a sight to see!
Trying to Make Sense of It All
I realized pretty quickly that following all these teams and players is a whole thing. It’s not just about knowing the scores, but also about understanding who the key players are, like this Kyra Neel from Forks who got MVP, and her teammates Kadie Wood and Kaidence Rigby. I was just scribbling names and trying to keep it all straight.
The main takeaway from my little research project was that volleyball in the Dominican Republic is a big deal. There are tons of teams at different levels, and it seems like there’s always something happening. I definitely got a better sense of the landscape, even though I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.
It’s a wild scene, and I’m thinking I might try to catch a game sometime, just to see it all in action. That’s it, my volleyball journey of the Dominican Republic. It was quite fun and I think I will do it again in the future! This is a wrap!
