So, I’ve been meaning to capture some good volleyball action shots for a while now. Today, I finally got around to it. I grabbed my camera and headed to the local beach where there’s always a game going on.

First thing I did was scout for a good spot. I wanted to get a clear view of the court without being in the way. Found a nice little area with a bit of elevation, which was perfect.
- I set up my camera, a pretty standard DSLR, nothing too fancy.
- Made sure my settings were right for the bright, sunny conditions – you know, adjusting the shutter speed and all that.
- Then, it was just a matter of waiting for those epic moments.
The players were really getting into it, diving and spiking. I was snapping away, trying to freeze those instants where they were mid-air, or just about to hit the ball. It’s tougher than it looks, let me tell you! Got a bunch of blurry shots at first, but hey, that’s part of the process.
After a couple of hours, I had a decent collection. Some of the shots really captured the intensity and the fun of the game. There’s this one where a player is fully stretched out, parallel to the ground, just making a save – pretty cool, if I do say so myself.
The Outcome
Went home, uploaded the pics to my computer, and started sorting through them. Picked out the best ones, did some minor editing – you know, cropping, adjusting the light a bit, the usual stuff. I’m no pro editor, but I think they turned out alright. These photos are pretty good. I’ve uploaded them to my blog, I think my fans will like them a lot. This was a good day!
It was a fun little project. Definitely going to do this again. Maybe next time I’ll try a different setting, like an indoor game or something. We’ll see!
