Okay, so today I decided to mess around with this “hacker sport” thing. I’d heard about it, sounded kinda cool, so I figured, why not?

Getting Started
First, I just kinda poked around. Didn’t really know what I was doing, just clicking on stuff. I found a few websites, some forums, mostly people talking about all these challenges. It felt a bit overwhelming, to be honest.
Baby Steps
I decided to start small. I found this one site that had a bunch of, like, beginner-level puzzles. CTF I learned it is called. They were pretty basic, stuff like finding hidden text on a webpage, decoding some simple ciphers. You know, the easy stuff. I spent a good hour or two just working through those. It was actually kinda fun, like solving little riddles.
Digging Deeper
After I got the hang of the easy stuff, I felt a bit more confident. I started looking at some of the more complicated challenges. One involved looking at some code, trying to figure out what it did, and then exploiting a weakness in it. Sounded super complicated, but I gave it a shot.
Stuck and Searching
I got stuck. Like, really stuck. I spent ages staring at this code, not having the slightest clue what to do. So, I did what anyone would do – I googled it. Found some tutorials, read some explanations, watched a few videos. It started to make a little more sense, but I still wasn’t getting it.
Tiny Victory!
I kept at it, though. I went back to the code, tried a few different things, and then…bam! I found a small mistake. Changed one tiny thing, and it worked! I couldn’t believe it. I actually felt like a hacker for a second there. It was a tiny, insignificant victory, but it felt amazing.
The End Result?
So, after a whole day of messing around with this “hacker sport”, what did I accomplish? Not much, to be honest. I solved a few basic puzzles, got stuck on a harder one, and managed to find one tiny little bug.

But you know what? It was fun. I actually learned something. And I definitely want to try it again. Maybe tomorrow I’ll actually figure out that harder challenge. Who knows?
It’s more like a slow, frustrating, but ultimately satisfying puzzle game. And hey, that’s good enough for me.
