Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with creating an entertainment calendar – you know, like the ones you see for upcoming movie releases or concert dates. I decided to call it “The Starting Gate Entertainment Calendar.” Sounds kinda cool, right?
First, I brainstormed what kind of events I wanted to include. I figured movies, concerts, maybe some big gaming releases, and theater shows would be a good mix. I wanted this thing to be useful, not just a random collection of dates.
Then came the fun part – actually building it. I’m not a coder or anything, so I kept it simple. I started looking for tools I could use without having to learn to be some programming whiz.
I decided to go with a basic setup. I created a simple spreadsheet to hold all of my data.
- Column 1: Event Name (e.g., “Avengers 6,” “Taylor Swift Concert,” “Cyberpunk 2077 DLC”)
- Column 2: Event Type (Movie, Concert, Game, Theater)
- Column 3: Release/Event Date
- Column 4: Any extra notes (like a venue or a short description)
I went and started filling in the data. A bit of Google searching, and my calendar started taking form! Movie release dates, concert announcements, everything went straight into the spreadsheet. Man, it felt good to see it grow!
After putting in a bunch of events, I wanted to make it look, well, not so boring. My spreadsheet had some basic sorting and color-coding options, and I played with those for a while. I color-coded each event type, so movies were blue, concerts red, and so on. Made it much easier to scan!
Finally, I wanted to be able to easily see what was coming up soon. So I used the “sort” function to arrange everything by date. Now, the most upcoming events were right at the top. Perfect!
So, that’s pretty much it! My “Starting Gate Entertainment Calendar” is up and running. It’s not fancy, but it does exactly what I need it to. It’s a simple, organized way to keep track of all the entertainment stuff I’m looking forward to. If you are looking to do the same, I suggest you try my simple steps.
