Okay, here is my experience sharing about youth basketball in Kirtland.

I’ve been coaching youth basketball for a while now, and this season I decided to take my team to Kirtland. I had heard good things about their program and wanted to see for myself. It turns out those things were quite right.
From the get-go, I started preparing for this. I mean, overscheduling competitive events is a no-no. You gotta keep it balanced, right? So, I checked the kids’ ages. Most of them are in kindergarten to third grade, just starting to learn the basics. We did some simple drills, practiced shooting, and focused on teamwork. Basic stuff, nothing too crazy.
We headed to Kirtland and jumped right into their program. Their coaches were awesome, they knew their stuff and were great with the kids. I was taking notes like crazy because I wanted to use some of their techniques with my team back home. The kids really enjoyed it, they were learning and having fun at the same time. What more could you ask for?
One thing that really stuck with me was the atmosphere. It was positive and encouraging. The kids were having a blast, and so were the parents. That’s not always the case, trust me, I’ve seen some pretty intense parents on the sidelines.
After spending some time there, I can see why people speak highly of the Kirtland program. It’s well-organized, the coaches are knowledgeable, and the environment is perfect for young players. They really focus on developing skills and making sure the kids have fun. I even picked up a few new coaching tips myself.
Here are some of the things that I took note of:

- Coaching Style: Very positive and focused on teaching rather than just winning.
- Drills: They had some interesting drills that I hadn’t seen before. Simple but effective.
- Teamwork: They really emphasized working together, which is great for this age group.
Overall, it was a great experience. I’d recommend it to any parents or coaches looking for a solid program. It’s all about the kids learning and having a good time, and Kirtland seems to get that right. If you’re thinking about a good place for youth basketball, definitely check them out. It’s a solid choice, and you won’t be disappointed.
