Today, I wanna talk about my journey with Spoon Sports. It all started when I got my hands on a Honda Civic. Not just any Civic, but one that I had big plans for. I’ve always been into cars, especially ones that you can tweak and tune to make ’em go faster and handle better.
So, first thing I did was dive deep into research. I wanted to find out how to make my Civic a beast on the road. That’s when I stumbled upon Spoon Sports. These guys are known for making high-performance parts for Hondas. After reading tons of reviews and watching videos, I decided to give their stuff a shot.
I started with the engine. Now, Spoon doesn’t make their own engines from scratch. What they do is take Honda engines and work their magic on them. They tweak ’em, tune ’em, and make ’em way more powerful. I got my hands on a Spoon-tuned B16B engine. These bad boys can push up to 200 horsepower if you set them up right with all the Spoon goodies, like their exhaust and ECU.
Installing the engine was a whole adventure. I’m not a pro mechanic, but I’ve got some experience working on cars. With the help of some buddies and a lot of online tutorials, we managed to swap out the old engine for the Spoon one. It wasn’t easy, took us a couple of weekends, but man, was it worth it.
But I didn’t stop there. To really get the most out of the engine, I added a few more upgrades:
- Turbocharger: This was a big one. Adding a turbocharger meant compressing more air into the engine, which translates to more power. It was a bit pricey and a pain to install, but it gave my Civic a huge boost. At least 50 horsepower more, easy.
- Intake System: I upgraded the intake system to make sure the engine was getting as much air as possible. This, combined with the turbo, made a noticeable difference in performance.
After all these upgrades, my Civic was a completely different machine. It was faster, more responsive, and just a blast to drive. The Spoon engine, along with the turbo and intake, turned my regular Civic into a little rocket. It is about a good amount of power without sacrificing longer lifespan and reliability.
But it’s not just about speed. Spoon engines are built for reliability. They’re designed to last long on the tracks, not just make big horsepower for a few races. That’s why they’re perfect for circuit racing. My Civic not only goes fast but also handles like a dream, which is exactly what I was aiming for.
This whole project has been a wild ride. From researching and planning to getting my hands dirty and actually doing the work, it’s been a learning experience. And the best part? Driving the finished product. There’s nothing like the feeling of hitting the road in a car you’ve built yourself, knowing all the work and effort that went into it. If you’re into cars and thinking about upgrading, I highly recommend checking out what Spoon Sports has to offer. It’s a game-changer, trust me.
