Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this game called Spike Volleyball, and I gotta say, it’s been a wild ride. I mean, I’m no expert or anything, but I figured I’d share my little adventure with you guys.

First off, I snagged a copy of Spike Volleyball for my PlayStation 4. It was a no-brainer really, since I am a volleyball player from a young age. And the box looked so cool.
Once I got the game fired up, the first thing that caught my eye was the roster. We’re talking 50 national teams, both men’s and women’s. That’s a lot of teams to choose from! I spent a good chunk of time just browsing through them all, trying to decide who to play as first.
Then I dove into the gameplay itself. Now, I’m not gonna lie, it took some getting used to. The controls felt a bit clunky at first, and I definitely whiffed a few serves before I started to get the hang of it. But once I did, man, it was fun.
- Serving: Timing is everything. You gotta hit that button at just the right moment to get a good serve in.
- Setting: This was probably the trickiest part for me. Getting the ball to your teammates where they need it takes some practice.
- Spiking: Once you get a good set, this is where the magic happens. Smashing the ball down on the other team feels so satisfying.
- Blocking: You gotta anticipate where the other team is gonna spike and get your hands up in time.
- Digging: When the other team spikes, you gotta be ready to dive and keep the ball alive.
I spent hours playing, trying out different teams, and even messing around with the career mode, which, by the way, isn’t the best, it is a little bit boring, but gets the job done. There were definitely some frustrating moments, like when the AI would pull off some crazy move that I totally didn’t see coming. And don’t even get me started on the bugs and glitches. But you know what? Despite all that, I still had a blast.
It is also worth mentioning that each game usually goes for best 3 of 5 sets, just like in college volleyball matches.
So, would I recommend Spike Volleyball? It’s a tough call. If you’re a die-hard volleyball fan, you might get a kick out of it. But if you’re expecting a flawless, polished experience, you might be disappointed. It’s got its issues, for sure, but hey, it’s still volleyball, and volleyball is always fun, right?

Anyway, that’s my two cents on Spike Volleyball. Hope you guys enjoyed my ramblings. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some more spiking to do.
