Okay, so, I’ve been glued to the screen for the past few days, totally binging “The Boys” Season 4, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started this whole thing on Thursday, June 13th, right when the first three episodes dropped on Prime Video. I remember I cleared my schedule, got some snacks, and just dove in.
First off, I got sucked into the whole thing immediately. They really upped the ante this season. More gore, more crazy antics, and just when you think it can’t get any more messed up, it does. I spent that whole day just watching, completely engrossed. My initial plan was to watch only one episode, you know, take it slow. But, man, those cliffhangers! I couldn’t help myself and ended up watching all three episodes back-to-back.
Over the next few days, I kept coming back for more. Every Thursday, I was there, ready for the new episode to drop. I even started getting my buddies into it, so we could all freak out together over the insane stuff happening on screen. I’d call them up, or we’d text, debating all the plot twists and what might happen next. It was like we had our own little viewing party going on.
- Episode 1: Thursday, June 13
- Episode 2: Thursday, June 13
- Episode 3: Thursday, June 13
- Episode 4: Thursday, June 20
- Episode 5: Thursday, June 27
- Episode 6: Thursday, July 4
- Episode 7: Thursday, July 11
- Episode 8: Thursday, July 18
The discussions online were just as crazy. I spent hours scrolling through forums and social media, reading everyone’s theories and reactions. Some folks were saying the show’s “gone woke” because of some of the storylines, but honestly, I think it’s just pushing boundaries like it always has. This is not my first rodeo and I feel the show is on the right track.
And the characters, They have done some great things to the old ones while new characters like Firecracker, played by Valorie Curry, who I remember from “The Following,” were pretty interesting to watch, especially seeing how she fits into the whole mess. It’s always cool to see actors you recognize pop up in new roles. Her character, man, she’s a real piece of work.
My Final Thoughts
By the time I got to the finale on July 18th, I was both exhausted and totally pumped. They really left things on a massive cliffhanger, and now I’m just counting down the days until the next season. I’ve rewatched a few key scenes, trying to pick up on any hints about what’s coming. This whole experience, from the day-one binge to the weekly watch parties and online discussions, it’s been a blast. “The Boys” Season 4 really delivered, and I’m all in for whatever they throw at us next. The wait is going to kill me, I really need to find another show to fill the void, I guess.
