Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get back into some classic gaming lately, and I remembered those old volleyball games on PlayStation. You know, the ones that were kinda clunky but super fun? I decided to dive back in and see what I could find.
First, I dusted off my old PlayStation 2. Yeah, I still have it! It took a bit of searching in the attic, but I finally found it, along with a box of games. I rummaged through the box, hoping to find a volleyball game I vaguely remembered playing years ago.
Sadly, I couldn’t find that specific game. I think it might’ve been a rental or something I borrowed from a friend way back when. Bummer! But, I did find a couple of other sports games, including one that had beach volleyball as a mini-game.

After I shopped. I popped it in, and…wow, the nostalgia hit hard. The graphics were blocky, the controls were a little stiff, but it was still a blast! I spent a good hour just messing around, trying to get the timing down for spikes and blocks. It was definitely simpler than modern sports games, but that was part of the charm.
Then I decided to check out the actual “beach volleyball” mini-game. It was even more basic, but somehow even more fun. The characters were goofy, the physics were totally unrealistic, and I was laughing the whole time. I even managed to pull off a few super-powered spikes, which was ridiculously satisfying.
My Feeling
It’s not gonna win any awards for graphics or realism,I know, but it reminded me of why I loved these games in the first place. It was a fun, simple, and just plain silly. I ended up playing for way longer than I expected, and I’ll definitely be revisiting it again soon. It’s a nice little escape from all the super-serious, hyper-realistic games out there today. Sometimes, you just want to have some goofy, low-stakes fun, you know?
