Okay, so today I decided to mess around with Diaco Games Volleyball. I’d seen some stuff about it online and it looked kinda fun, so I figured, why not?
Getting Started
First, I downloaded the game. Pretty straightforward, nothing fancy there. Once it was installed, I fired it up. The intro screen popped up, music started playing – your typical game stuff.
Figuring Out the Controls
Now, this is where it got a little tricky. I jumped straight into a quick match without really looking at the controls. Big mistake! I was mashing buttons, my players were all over the place, and I was getting absolutely destroyed. It felt like i was controlling spongebob
- I spent a good few minutes just figuring out how to serve properly.
- Then I had to figure out the bumping, setting, and spiking.
- It’s not rocket science, but it definitely takes a bit of practice to get the timing down.
Actually Playing a Match
After I felt like I had a slightly better handle on things, I started another match. This time, it went a little better. I actually managed to score a few points! I still lost pretty badly, but hey, progress is progress, right?
My Thoughts So Far
Honestly, it’s a pretty fun game once you get the hang of it. It’s not super realistic, but it’s got that arcade-y feel that makes it easy to pick up and play. I can see myself spending a few more hours on this, trying to get better. The graphics are okay, nothing special, but they do the job. The sound effects are pretty standard too – the usual whistle blows, ball bouncing, and crowd cheering.
I think the key is really just practicing the timing of the different moves. Once you get that down, you can actually start to strategize a little bit, like aiming your spikes or trying to block your opponent. I’m definitely no pro yet, but I’m starting to see the potential.
I played a few more, now feeling confident enough, and I managed to win, not easily tho, so that was a nice touch.
