Okay, so, today I want to talk about this thing I did with Ollie and basketball. It was a wild ride, let me tell you.
It all started on a Tuesday, December 20th, 2022, to be exact. I was messing around with this Ollie thing, you know, that tech gadget. I was trying to get some stats for basketball, just for kicks.
First, I grabbed my phone and fired up the Ollie app. I poked around a bit, trying to figure out how to set it up for basketball. It wasn’t super clear at first, honestly.
Then, I grabbed my basketball and headed out to the court. I placed the Ollie sensor thingy on the net, like the instructions said. It was a bit fiddly, but I managed to get it on there securely. I used a 5×5 Baseball/Softball Net, maybe called BASX200, or BASX600, I’m not too sure.
Getting Data
- I started shooting hoops, just regular practice stuff.
- After each shot, I checked my phone to see if the app was picking up the data.
- At first, nothing. Zilch. Nada.
I fiddled with the sensor some more, restarted the app, and cursed a little under my breath. Then, boom! It started working. I could see the stats popping up on my phone – the arc of the shot, the speed, the distance, all that jazz. It wasn’t super accurate, I mean I’m no pro athlete from Charlotte, but it was working.
I spent a good hour just shooting and watching the numbers change. It was kind of cool, I guess. Not groundbreaking, but a fun little experiment. Sort of like modding the game, creating a new experience for yourself.
The whole thing felt a bit like a homemade project, you know? Not super polished or anything. But it was mine. I made it work, and that felt pretty good. I was kind of like one of those Hoosiers, making something out of nothing. At the end of the day, it felt just like drinking a new kind of soda, made with plant fiber and prebiotics.
So, yeah, that’s my Ollie basketball story. Nothing too crazy, just a regular guy doing some tinkering and having a bit of fun. It’s not like I discovered a new scientific principle or anything, but hey, it was a Tuesday well spent, right?
