Okay, so, let’s talk about this whole thing with the Jackson County Panthers 10U football team in 2024. I started by wanting to capture the season, you know, get some good shots of the kids playing. I heard about their games through the grapevine and thought, “Why not?”
First off, I looked for their schedule. It wasn’t super easy to find, but I managed to get a hold of it. There was some talk about a revised schedule, something about 9.23.24, but I just stuck with what I had. I saw they had playoff brackets for different age groups – 6U, 7U, 8U, and so on. Our focus was the 10U, obviously.
I started going to their games, camera in hand. I remember one game against the Habersham County Raiders. It was a tough one, a 0-32 loss. And then there was the Cherokee Bluff Bears game, another loss at 0-27. But, you know, it’s not always about winning. I was there to capture the moments, the effort, the teamwork.
- Went to as many games as I could.
- Snapped tons of pictures at each one.
- Tried to get a good mix of action shots and team photos.
I also found out that the main place for the team was the Jackson County High School, the “Home of the Panthers,” at 152 Jaxco Junction in Hoschton. I didn’t go there much, mostly just stuck to the game locations.
Later on, I heard about some picture day getting rescheduled to a Sunday at 5:00 PM at the middle school field. Apparently, they use these pictures for end-of-season gifts. I made sure to be there. It was a good opportunity to get some nice, posed shots of the kids.
Wrapping Up
It was a pretty cool experience, following these young players and capturing their season. I got a bunch of pictures, learned a bit about the team, and saw some exciting football, even if they didn’t win every game. These kids have a lot of heart, and it was great to document that. That’s pretty much the whole story of my time with the Jackson County Panthers 10U team. No big drama, just a good time and a lot of photos. That’s how it’s done!
