Okay, so I’ve been wanting a better setup for my TV and all the stuff that goes with it. I looked around, and decided a “two-piece entertainment center” sounded like a good way to go. Basically, it’s like a TV stand and then a separate hutch or something that goes on top, right? So, here’s how I tackled it.
The Hunt Begins
First, I spent like, a whole weekend just browsing online. I looked at tons of pictures and read way too many reviews. It was overwhelming! I wanted something, you know, sturdy, but also something that looked good. My living room isn’t huge, so I needed to be smart about the size.
Measuring and Measuring Again
Then came the fun part – measuring my space. I grabbed my trusty tape measure and checked the wall where the TV was going to go, like, five times. I even used some painter’s tape to mark out the size on the floor, just to be really sure. I didn’t want to end up with something that totally swallowed the room.
Shopping Spree (Kind Of)
Armed with my measurements and a vague idea of what I wanted, I hit up a few furniture stores. It was a bit of a bust, to be honest. Everything was either too big, too small, or just plain ugly. And the prices! Don’t even get me started.
Build It MySelf
Then I have a great idea! I can totally build it on myself. The first step, I prepared two big board, and I used a saw to make some samll wooden board which is used to seperate the layer. After that I got a hammer and nails, and I nailed one board as a backplane first, then start to nail the layer board on the backpalne. After I finished the TV stand, I did a same one but more narrow than it, this will be place on top.
Putting It All Together
It’s time to assemble! I put the bigger board under the TV, and another one on the top of TV. I put my favorite books and collections in the top cabinet, so that when I watch TV, I can easily see them.
It wasn’t perfect, but it’s mine. And honestly, it looks pretty darn good. Plus, I saved a bunch of money. Definitely a win in my book!
