Alright, today I’m gonna talk about my little adventure with the Mikasa beach volleyball. You know, Mikasa, that brand everyone seems to know when it comes to volleyballs. So, picture this: It’s a sunny Saturday, and I’m thinking, “Why not hit the beach and play some volleyball?”

First thing I did was grab my gear. Now, I’ve had this Mikasa ball for a while, but I haven’t used it much recently. It’s the VX20 model, nothing too fancy, just your standard beach volleyball. It’s got this classic look, you know, 66-68 cm around, stitched together like any decent volleyball. I pumped it up, felt good, nice and firm.
Off to the beach I went. Met up with some friends, set up the net, and we started playing. The ball, I gotta say, it felt pretty good in my hands. It’s made from this synthetic leather stuff, which is supposed to make it easier to grip. I’m no pro, but I felt like I had a decent handle on it.
- We played for a couple of hours, just a casual game.
- The ball held up well, no problems there.
- I noticed it’s made of 18 panels, which, I guess, is standard for these types of balls?
Later on, I found out that Mikasa is actually the official ball for some big-shot volleyball leagues. Didn’t know that before. Makes sense, though, it’s a solid ball. They’ve got this other model, the BV551C-WYBR, which they say is the official practice ball for the FIVB. I might check that out sometime.
Wrapping Up
All in all, it was a good day. The Mikasa ball did its job. It’s not like I was expecting it to make me play like a pro, but it was reliable, felt good to hit, and added to the fun. It reminded me why I like playing volleyball in the first place – good company, nice weather, and a trusty ball. That’s all you really need, right? So, if you’re looking for a decent beach volleyball, I’d say give the Mikasa a try. It’s a good, solid choice for some fun in the sun.
