Okay, so I’ve been trying to get back into volleyball lately, you know, just for fun and exercise. I used to play in high school, but it’s been a while. So, I was like, “I wonder if there are any professional volleyball games near me?” I wanted to watch some high-level play, get inspired, maybe pick up some tips.

First, I grabbed my phone and just did a quick search. You know the usual, “professional volleyball games near me”. A bunch of stuff popped up, but honestly, it was mostly about local leagues and college games, which is cool, but not what I was looking for.
Then, I remembered there are those pro volleyball associations, the ones get some airtime, but I couldn’t remember names. So I tried searching for a bit more. I dug around a little deeper, checking some sports websites.
I checked the schedules on a few of those, and most of their games were, like, way across the country. Kind of a bummer. I was hoping for something I could maybe drive to in a couple of hours, max.
After that, I thought maybe I should check social media. You know how sometimes events get promoted there more than on official websites. So, I went on Facebook, looked at some local sports pages, and browsed through some volleyball groups. Still, not much luck finding pro-level games.
My Findings (or Lack Thereof)
- Lots of amateur leagues: Plenty of options for joining a team, which is great, but not what I was looking for this time.
- College games are easier to find: There are some good college teams around, so that could be a decent option for watching a good game.
- Pro games are scarce: At least in my area, it seems like it’s pretty rare to have professional volleyball games nearby.
So, yeah, my quest to find a professional volleyball game nearby didn’t really pan out. It seems like I might have to settle for watching games online or maybe consider a longer trip if I really want to see one in person. But hey, at least I know what’s out there now, and I can keep an eye out for future events. Maybe next season, I’ll have better luck!
