Okay, so I wanted to spice up our volleyball practice. We’ve been doing the same drills over and over, and I could tell everyone was getting a little bored. I figured some fun games would be a good way to keep things interesting while still working on our skills. So I did some digging, planned out and here’s how it went:

Warm-up Mayhem
First, I started with a super simple warm-up, just to get everyone moving and the blood flowing. We did some jogging, arm circles, and some dynamic stretching, normal stuff.
- Jogging around the court
- Arm circles (forward and backward)
- High knees and butt kicks
- Leg swings
Game Time!
1. King/Queen of the Court:
I devided the court into two, I had two teams battling it out.I Started with three players on each side. The goal? Stay on the court as long as possible! Every time a team won a point, they rotated,If they lost, they were off, and a new team of three took their * try to keep the rallies going as long as we can.
2. Target Practice:
I set up some targets on the court, I used cones. Each player gets to serve, I let them try to hit the * one get the most targets win! I also try another game is to have them try to hit a specific sequence of * it’s fun!
3. One-on-One Pepper with a Twist:

Pepper’s a classic (pass, set, hit to each other). I pair people to play with each other. We play a few rounds with regular pepper. I also make it more crazy, I added some fun rules, like you can only set with your non-dominant hand, or you have to bump every ball.
4. Scramble Ball:
This one’s chaotic good. I divided the team into two, like a normal game. But,I throw in multiple volleyballs at random times. I throw the ball, sometimes two, sometimes even three balls come flying over the *’s so crazy!
Cool-Down and Wrap-Up
After all the games, I make sure do some static stretching to cool down. We did some arm stretches, hamstring stretches, and quad stretches. I also gave everyone a high-five for working hard and having fun. The most important part of any practice is a proper cool-down, helps prevent injuries and all that.
All in all, I think it was a successful practice. Everyone had a good time, and we got to work on our skills in a new and engaging way. I’ll definitely be incorporating more games into our practices in the future. I might even try to invent some of my own!
