Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following all your guidelines:

So, I wanted to capture the San Jose Senior Night women’s volleyball game. It was a big deal, you know, last home game for the seniors, lots of emotion, and I really wanted to preserve that. Not just for me, but for the players, their families, everyone.
First thing I did was check the battery of my device. Fully Charged. Make sure that there’s enough space in my storage.
Then, I scoped out the gym beforehand. I’ve been to a bunch of games there, but this time I was looking for the best angles. I wanted to be close enough to get good shots of the players, but not so close that I’d be in the way or, worse, get beaned by a volleyball!
I decided on two main spots. One was near the net, kind of off to the side, where I could get good close-ups of the action, blocks, spikes, all that good stuff. The other was a little further back, more towards the middle of the court, to get a wider view of the whole game.
The Senior Night ceremony itself was before the game. I made sure to get there extra early. I got some shots of the seniors with their families, all the flowers and gifts, the hugs and tears. It was really touching.
During the game, I switched back and forth between my two spots. When the play was intense near the net, I’d zoom in and try to capture the expressions on the players’ faces. When there was a long rally or I wanted to show the overall flow of the game, I’d go back to my wider shot.
- Stayed focused, even when things got hectic.
- Kept an eye on the whole court, not just the ball.
- Tried to anticipate where the action was going to be.
The whole thing was a blur of serves, spikes, digs, and cheers. It was exhilarating, exhausting, and totally worth it.
Finally, I got a fantastic live video about the game.
