Okay, so, I’ve been digging into this Lachi McKain basketball thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I started out knowing absolutely nothing, just a name, “Lachi McKain,” and the word “basketball.” Naturally, I began looking for information on the internet.
First, I found that there’s this Chandler-Gilbert Community College mentioned alongside Lachi’s name repeatedly. Seems like this is where Lachi plays, or played. I also learned she’s around 6’2, which is pretty tall! And apparently, she’s from Melbourne Grammar. Also, based on what I saw, she’s a freshman.
Then I started browsing stats. These numbers really started to paint a picture. Looks like Lachi played in 31 games, starting in 30 of them. That’s a lot! And she had 856 minutes on the court. Her field goal percentage was 42.5, and her three-point percentage was 41.1, I don’t really know what that means but it seems impressive! Plus, a free throw percentage of 68.2. In total, she scored a bunch of points.
But then things got even more interesting. I stumbled upon some information that Lachi is not just a basketball player. She’s a “globally touring performer,” a “charting recording artist,” and an “award-winning social entrepreneur.” What? This person is way more than just a basketball player! They’re legally blind, and they’re using their platform in music to advocate for disability inclusion. That’s pretty amazing. I was not expecting that.
- Lachi is a basketball player.
- Lachi is also a musician and social entrepreneur.
- Lachi advocates for disability inclusion.
She even hosts a series on PBS called “Renegades.” At first, I thought it was about the LA Lakers and the NBA, but it seems more focused on her music and advocacy. It seems she does keynotes and projects related to disability inclusion in music, entertainment, and corporate America. So, yeah, Lachi McKain is definitely someone to keep an eye on. They’re doing some seriously cool stuff, both on and off the court. She is like a multi-talented individual!
My Realization
This whole deep dive into Lachi McKain just goes to show you, there’s always more than meets the eye. You start with basketball, and you end up discovering a musician, an advocate, and an all-around inspiring person. It makes you wonder what other amazing stories are out there, just waiting to be uncovered.
