Okay, so I finally decided to get my hands on a Kaweco Sport. I’ve seen these little pens everywhere online, and I was super curious. So, I started by, you know, just Googling around to see what the fuss was about.
Getting Started
First, I looked at some pictures and read some reviews. I noticed everyone kept saying how small they are, which I was a little worried about. But, the design? Super cool. I love that vintage, almost old-school look.
Choosing My Kaweco
Next, I had to pick a color and material. So many choices! There’s the plastic ones, the aluminum, even brass and steel. After some serious back-and-forth, I went with the classic plastic version in white. Seemed like a good, safe starting point, and white goes with anything, right?
Unboxing and First Impressions
- The pen arrived, and yep, it was tiny! Like, seriously small when it’s closed.
- I popped in a Kaweco blue cartridge.
- Then, I posted the cap (put it on the back of the pen), and that’s when it felt like a “real” pen. Perfect size, actually!
Writing with It
I started writing, and the nib was surprisingly smooth. I chose a fine nib, and it’s a little bit scratchy, but in a good way, if that makes sense. It gives you some feedback. I spent a whole afternoon just doodling and writing random stuff in my notebook.
I get the appeal, simple and effective.
My Final Thoughts (For Now!)
It’s a solid little pen. And, I think, is a good addition to my collection. I’m planning to try different ink cartridges.
I Totally recommend giving it a shot if you’re into fountain pens, or even if you’re just curious!
