Okay, so I gotta tell you about this little project I did. It was a blast, let me tell you! I wanted to keep track of the local youth football team – the Jackson County JCSS Panthers, specifically the 10U team for the 2024 season. I have a nephew on the team, and I thought it’d be fun to follow their progress, see how they’re doing.
First, I scoured the web for any info I could find. School websites, sports pages, you name it. I grabbed schedules, player names, anything that looked useful. It was a bit of a treasure hunt, I’ll admit.
Collecting the Information
Then, I started putting together a simple database. Nothing fancy, just a place to store all the details. I used a spreadsheet program I’m familiar with, but you could use whatever you’re comfortable with. The goal was to have everything in one spot so I could easily look things up and update it.
Next up, I needed to make sure I had the team’s schedule down. I found some info on the Jackson County School District website and the high school’s site. It looks like they play at this big stadium called Panther Stadium – sounds impressive! I heard it can hold like 9,000 people. That’s a lot of cheering fans! I noted the dates and times of the games, making sure to double-check everything. I wouldn’t want to miss a game!
Making a Game Plan
- Checked the Jackson County School District website for schedules.
- Found some info about Panther Stadium on the high school’s website.
- Noted game dates and times in my spreadsheet.
Once I had the schedule sorted, I started looking for info on the players. I wanted to know who was on the team, maybe see what positions they played. It took a little digging, but I managed to piece together a pretty good roster. I felt like a real sports reporter, gathering all this intel.
Now, to keep track of their progress, I decided to note down the scores after each game. I saw something about them beating a team called Apalachee on December 16th. I’ll add that to my notes. I planned to update this after every match, so I could see how they were improving throughout the season.
Tracking the Team
Finally, I wanted to have a way to remember all this, like a little time capsule. I thought about printing out my spreadsheet or maybe even putting together a small scrapbook with some photos. It’s just a fun way to look back on the season and see how far the team has come.
So that’s basically what I did. It was a fun little project, and I’m excited to see how the Jackson County JCSS Panthers 10U team does this year. Go Panthers!
