Okay, so I’ve been meaning to dig into this whole Issey Miyake Sport thing for a while now. I kept seeing these vintage pieces pop up, and I was curious about the history, the designs, all of it. So, I finally decided to take the plunge and see what I could find.

I started by, you know, just doing a basic search. I wanted to get a feel for the brand’s overall vibe and what made it special. I quickly learned that Issey Miyake Sport later became known as I.S. Chisato Tsumori Design. That was a good starting point – gave me another name to search for.
Then, I started hunting for actual clothes. I looked at online marketplaces, vintage shops, those kinds of places. It took some digging, let me tell you! This stuff isn’t exactly sitting on every rack.
My Finds
- I found some really cool bomber jackets. The materials felt amazing – super durable, but also really lightweight. The cuts were interesting, too. Not your typical boxy bomber. They had this, like, almost architectural feel to them.
- I managed to snag a few sweatshirts. The designs were pretty bold – lots of bright colors and geometric patterns. Definitely a statement piece.
- The thing that really struck me was the quality. I mean, these were older pieces, some of them decades old, but they felt like they could last another lifetime. That’s not something you see every day.
I spent a good few hours just browsing, comparing different pieces, and reading descriptions. I even tried to find some old catalogs or lookbooks, but that was tough. It felt like uncovering a little piece of fashion history.
Honestly my whole process to find what I was looking for took me several days.
After all that searching, and examining, trying them on, and then, figuring out what to do with them, how to style, I decided to keep it all.
Overall, it was a really fun deep dive. It’s always cool to learn about the history behind a brand, and Issey Miyake Sport definitely has a unique story. It’s made me appreciate the craftsmanship and the design vision that went into these clothes. I think I’m officially hooked!
