Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into the whole college sports scene, and what better way to do that than to catch an Iowa volleyball game? I’d heard the atmosphere at these things is electric, so I decided to check it out.
First, I got online and figured out the schedule. I saw there was a home game this weekend, perfect timing! Then came the tickets. Luckily, grabbing them online was easy. I just picked my seats and paid, and I was all set.
Game Day Prep
Game day rolls around, and I wanted to get into the spirit. I don’t own any Hawkeye gear, so I just make sure to wear black and gold.
Next, I did some quick homework about attending the game. So I made sure to find out parking situation. I didn’t want to be circling for an hour looking for a spot. Found a good lot a few blocks away, not too bad of a walk.
At the Game
When I get there, wow! The energy was crazy. Everyone’s decked out, face paint, the whole deal. I found my seat, and the place was packed. The band was playing, cheerleaders were, you know, cheering. It was awesome.
The game itself was intense. These girls are serious athletes. The spikes, the dives, the blocks – it was non-stop action. The crowd was going nuts with every point, and I totally got caught up in it.
- The first set was super close, back and forth the whole time.
- Iowa pulled it out in the end, and the place erupted.
- The next two sets were just as exciting.
In the end, Iowa won! The crowd was chanting and that was a sight to see. I can’t even describe the feeling. Definitely a win for my first college volleyball experience.
Post-Game Thoughts
Walking out, I was buzzing. I totally get the hype now. It’s not just a game; it’s like a whole event. The community, the school spirit, it’s all part of it.
