Okay, so today I wanted to get a little exercise in and have some fun, so I decided to organize some indoor volleyball games. Here’s how it all went down.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed a place to play. I checked out a few local community centers and gyms. I looked for somewhere with decent volleyball courts – you know, good flooring, high ceilings, and clear lines.
- Called up three community centers.
- Visited two gyms to check out their facilities in person.
I finally found a gym that had a court available for a couple of hours this afternoon. Booked it!
Gathering the Players
Next, I needed people to play with! I hit up some friends who I know enjoy volleyball. I also put out a quick message on my social media groups, see who’s around and wants to play in the games.
- Texted my usual sports buddies.
- Posted on a local sports group chat.
I ended up with about ten people, which is perfect for some casual games – enough for two teams, with a couple of subs.
Game Time!
We all met up at the gym, got changed, and did a quick warm-up. Stretching is super important, people! Don’t want anyone pulling a muscle.
We divided ourselves into two teams, trying to keep things relatively balanced in terms of skill levels. We are not pros, just there for fun and exercise, and that’s perfectly fine.

We played best-of-three matches. The first team to win two sets. It was a blast!
- Lots of diving for the ball.
- Some pretty impressive spikes (and some not-so-impressive ones, haha).
- Plenty of laughs.
Cooling Down
After a couple of hours, everyone was pretty tired. We did some cool-down stretches and shared some water.
It was a great way to spend an afternoon: got some good exercise, hung out with friends, and had a lot of fun.
I’m definitely going to try to organize these indoor volleyball games more often. Maybe even make it a weekly thing. I need to find time at night or afternoon.
