Yesterday, my buddies and I decided to play a 4-person volleyball game. We haven’t done this in a while, so we were all pretty stoked. We picked a local park with a decent sand court – gotta love that beach volleyball vibe, even if it’s not exactly by the ocean.

Setting Up
First off, we needed to set up the net. It took us a good 15 minutes to figure out the poles and make sure the net was tight enough. We wanted it to be just right, not too saggy, you know? Once the net was up, we drew lines in the sand for the boundaries. We used a stick – nothing fancy, just did the job. We divided ourselves into two teams. It was me and my friend Mark against John and his cousin, Mike. We flipped a coin to see who served first. We lost, so they got the first serve.
Playing the Game
- Started playing, and man, it was intense from the get-go. John served a fast one, but Mark managed to return it. Then it was back and forth, back and forth.
- We scored a few points, they scored a few. We were all over the place, diving for the ball, setting each other up for spikes – it was a blast.
- There was this one rally that went on forever. I swear, we must have hit the ball back and forth at least 20 times. I was getting tired, but I wasn’t going to give up.
- Finally, I managed to spike the ball right past Mike, and we won the point. We all cheered – even the other team had to admit it was a good one.
Wrapping Up
We played for about two hours, and by the end, we were all completely wiped out. But it was that good kind of tired, you know? The kind you get after you’ve had a ton of fun and worked up a good sweat. We decided to call it a day, took down the net, and headed to a nearby place to grab some drinks and rehash the highlights. We agreed we should definitely do this again soon.
