Yesterday, I got stuck on this crossword puzzle. It was a real head-scratcher, especially this one clue: “nifty bit of entertainment for guests.” It got me thinking, what could it be? I mean, I always start with the easy ones, the fill-in-the-blanks, you know? Those are usually a piece of cake, common knowledge type of stuff. This one, though, it wasn’t so obvious.

So, I started digging around. I remembered that the crosswords get harder as the week goes on. I’ve been trying to crack the Monday ones first, those are the easiest. Then I might try a Tuesday, and if I’m feeling super brave, I’ll take a shot at the Saturday puzzle. Those are brutal!
My Research Process
I figured someone else must have had trouble with this clue too. I did some searching and found a bunch of people online looking for the same answer. There were a few different forums and websites, all trying to figure out this “nifty bit of entertainment” thing. Turns out, it was in some crossword on April 8th.
Here’s what I learned:
- People seemed to think the answer had something to do with the “8-Across” part of the puzzle.
- There was only one answer that really fit, and it seemed to be popping up everywhere.
- One popular suggestion was “PARTY.”
After seeing “PARTY” a few times, it clicked! That has to be it. It makes sense, right? A party is definitely a nifty bit of entertainment for guests. And you know, it got me thinking about how different events need different kinds of entertainment. Like, what works for a wedding probably wouldn’t fly at a corporate gig.
Anyway, I plugged “PARTY” into the crossword, and bam! It fit perfectly. Felt pretty good to finally crack that clue. It’s funny how these little puzzles can get you thinking about all sorts of things, like party planning and whatnot. But yeah, just wanted to share that little win. It was a fun little challenge, and hey, I learned something new!
