Okay, so, I was messing around online the other day, and I got curious about something kinda random: how many ex-NBA players are Jehovah’s Witnesses? Sounds weird, I know, but I just had to find out.

So, I started where everyone starts – good old Google. I typed in my question and started scrolling through the results. I found a few articles and forum posts talking about it. Apparently, this isn’t as uncommon as you might think.
First, I saw that Danny Granger is one of them. Then I learned about A.C. Green. It seems like he’s pretty open about his faith, too.

Then things got even more interesting. I found out that there are actually three current and former NBA players who are known to be Jehovah’s Witnesses. It’s not just Granger. The other two are Darren Collison and Dewayne Dedmon. Dedmon was actually playing for the Miami Heat when I was looking this up!

What really blew my mind was reading about how Darren Collison even retired from the NBA for a while to focus on his faith and help people. That’s some serious dedication. I mean, these guys are giving up a lot to stick to their beliefs. It says a lot about how important their faith is to them.
So, the final count?
From what I could find, it looks like there are at least three confirmed ex-NBA players who are Jehovah’s Witnesses. I guess it’s a bigger deal in the NBA than I thought! It was a fun little rabbit hole to go down, and I learned something new. That’s what I love about the internet – you never know what you’ll discover.
