Okay, so I’ve been getting into beach volleyball lately, and one thing I was curious about was how long the games actually last. I mean, you see these intense rallies on TV, but how long are they really on the sand?

So, I started by just playing some games. Nothing fancy, just some casual matches with friends at the beach. I made sure to time them, just using my phone’s stopwatch.
My Casual Game Timing
- First game: We played, and it took about 40 minutes.
- Second game: We got a little more into it, longer rallies, that one lasted around 50 minutes.
- Third game: This one was quicker, maybe 35 minutes? One team was just dominating.
So, from my very scientific sample size of three, it seemed like most games were falling somewhere in that 35-50 minute *’s just best of three sets, first to 21 points(win by 2 points)for the fisrt two * it goes to a third set,it’s first to 15 points(also win by 2 points). That’s it!
I also noticed that, yeah, things can really vary. I think around 45 minutes is a good average, at least for the level I’m playing *, yeah, that’s what I found out!
