Okay, so tonight was the big gopher volleyball game! I’ve been looking forward to this all week. First thing I did was grab my gear. I’ve got this old, beat-up volleyball that’s seen better days, but it’s my volleyball, you know?

Then, I headed over to the park. It’s just a short walk from my place, which is super convenient. When I got there, the scene was already buzzing. A bunch of people were there, setting up the net and just generally getting hyped.
Setting Up
- The net was a bit of a struggle. It’s one of those portable ones, and the poles kept sinking into the soft ground. We finally got it stable, though, after a few tries and some serious teamwork.
- Warming up was next. We did some basic stretches, nothing too crazy. Just enough to get the blood flowing and avoid pulling anything.
- Picking teams! This Always the tricky part, but it all even out in the end.
I jumped in a game right * started get intense. The volleys back and forth, and I made a killer save that was awesome. We played for a solid couple of hours, until it got too dark to see the ball. It was all casual, friendly competition – the best kind.
Afterward, we all chilled out on the grass, just talking and laughing. Someone brought snacks, which was a major win. I headed home feeling pretty good – tired, but in that satisfying, “I just had a blast” kind of way. Can’t wait for the next game!
