So, I decided to check out this “Game On Guelph Volleyball” thing. I’d heard some buzz about it, figured it’d be a fun way to spend an evening and get some exercise.

First, I dug around online to find out where it was happening. Turns out, it’s at the local community center, which is pretty convenient. I found their schedule and saw they had drop-in sessions on Wednesday nights. Perfect!
Getting Ready
I packed my gym bag – shorts, t-shirt, sneakers. Nothing fancy, just the basics. I also grabbed a water bottle, because, you know, hydration is key.
Game Time!
When I got there, I paid the small drop-in fee, and then I just kind of stood around awkwardly for a bit. It seemed like everyone already knew each other. But then, a friendly-looking guy waved me over to join his team. Sweet!
- We did some quick warm-ups – you know, the usual arm circles, some stretches.
- Then we started playing.
I’m no pro, but I can bump, set, and spike (sometimes!). It was a pretty casual game, lots of laughs, and a few good rallies. We rotated positions, so I got to try everything. Even messed up a few serves, but hey, no one cared.
It got pretty intense a couple of times, I dived to save balls, it’s all out of my passion.

Wrapping Up
After about two hours, we were all pretty sweaty and tired. We helped take down the nets, chatted a bit, and then I headed home.
Overall, it was a blast. I met some cool people, got a good workout, and had some fun. I’ll definitely be back next Wednesday!
