Okay, so, let’s talk about my day messing around with Nimir men’s volleyball. You know, it wasn’t some big official thing, just me and a few buddies trying to get a game going.
First off, I dug out my old volleyball from the garage. Thing was dusty as heck, but still had some air in it. Pumped it up a bit, felt good to go. Then, I rounded up a few friends who were free. We weren’t exactly a pro team, more like a bunch of guys who enjoy a bit of a run around.
We headed to the local park. There’s this grassy area, not a real court or anything, but it’s flat enough. We didn’t have a net, so we just used our backpacks to mark out a makeshift court. Pretty rough, I know, but hey, it worked!
- Started with some basic passing, just trying to get a feel for the ball again. It had been a while for some of us.
- Then we tried some serves. Man, my underhand serve was all over the place. One of my buddies, he was showing off with his jump serve. Show off!
- After that, we split into teams and tried to play a proper game. Lots of running, lots of diving, and a whole lot of laughing. We kept score, sort of. Nobody really cared who won, it was just fun to play.
We played for a couple of hours until it got dark. We were all pretty tired, but it was a good kind of tired. The kind you get after a good workout and a lot of fun.
The Aftermath
My arms were a bit sore the next day, and I definitely pulled a muscle somewhere in my leg, but it was worth it. It reminded me how much I enjoy just messing around with a volleyball, no pressure, just good times. We’re already planning another game next weekend. Hopefully, we can find a real net this time, but if not, the backpacks will do just fine!
