Okay, so yesterday I decided to get a bunch of friends together to play some volleyball. We’re not exactly pros, you know, just looking for some laughs and a bit of exercise. We wanted something super chill, so I started looking into easy volleyball games. Here’s how it went down.

Setting the Stage (Literally)
First, we found a park with a decent-sized grassy area. No need for a real court or anything, just enough space to move around without tripping over each other. I brought a volleyball, obviously, and some cones to mark out a makeshift court. We didn’t even bother with a net at first, just wanted to get a feel for things.
Game 1: Keep It Up!
Our first “game” was super simple. We just tried to keep the ball in the air as a group. No teams, no scoring, just pure cooperative volleying. We counted how many times we could hit the ball before it hit the ground. It was hilarious! We cheered each other on, dove for some wild saves, and mostly just laughed a lot. Our record, by the way, was a whopping 15 hits. We were pretty proud of that, even though it’s probably nothing to a real volleyball player.
- Focus: Cooperation, basic volleying skills.
- Rules: Hit the ball up, don’t let it drop. Count the hits!
- Why it’s fun: Low pressure, lots of cheering, teamwork makes the dream work!
Game 2: Lazy Volleyball
Then, someone suggested to make a simply rule of play, which is to devide us into two teams.
We roughly divided into two teams. It was totally uneven, but we didn’t care. The “rule” was to hit it to another side and don’t run much. You could only hit the ball three times per side (like real volleyball, kinda), but there was zero pressure. We spent more time chatting and giggling than actually playing seriously. Sometimes we just sat down for a minute to catch our breath, still holding the ball mid-game! Super relaxed. We call it “Lazy Volleyball”.
- Focus: Having fun, making it up as you go.
- Rules:Try to hit to another side.
- Why it’s fun: Zero rules, maximum goofiness.
Game3: One-Bounce Wonders
After a while, we decided to make things a tiny bit more challenging. We introduced the “one-bounce” rule. Basically, you could let the ball bounce once on your side before hitting it. This made it a bit easier to keep rallies going, but it also led to some funny scrambles and unexpected bounces.

- Focus: A little more challenging, but still easy.
- Rules:The ball is can be hit after one bounce.
- Why it’s fun:Adds a bit of strategy without being too hard.
Finally, we are tired, we just sat around and had some snacks and drinks. It was a perfect afternoon. We got some exercise, shared some laughs, and proved that you don’t need to be a pro athlete to enjoy volleyball. Just grab a ball, some friends, and make up your own fun!
