Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this HYBE entertainment audition thing. I heard it on the radio while I was washin’ dishes, somethin’ ’bout them youngsters singin’ and dancin’ for a chance to be famous.
Now, from what I gather, this HYBE company, they’re the big shots behind them boy bands, BTS and TXT, you know, the ones with the fancy hair and shiny clothes. My grandaughter, she’s always blabberin’ on ’bout ’em. Anyways, these big shots, they’re lookin’ for new talent, singers and dancers, young’uns mostly.
They’re holdin’ these auditions all over the world, can you believe it? Places I ain’t never even heard of. Hawaii, Vancouver, Sydney, Oakland, Bangkok, even some place called EU, sounds fancy, huh? They must be rollin’ in dough to be goin’ to all them places.
- Who can join? Well, if you’re a young’un, between 15 and 19 years old, you got a shot. But if you live in that EU place, you gotta be 16 to 19. Don’t ask me why, they got their own rules over there, I guess.
- When’s it happenin’? They started takin’ names and videos online, back in March and April. But if you missed that, don’t you fret, they got these walk-in auditions too. Startin’ June 1st and goin’ all the way to August 31st. Plenty of time, if you ask me.
- Where is it happenin’? Like I said, all over the world! 17 cities they said. They must be lookin’ for all kinds of folks.
Now, they say over 120,000 kids tried out last year. That’s a whole lotta youngsters hopin’ to be stars. They even had some kids from the Philippines and Australia, far away places, I tell ya. And this year, it sounds like it’s gonna be even bigger. They’re making a whole show about it, starting in September, so you can watch the kids go through the whole process.
I ain’t got no dog in this fight, mind you. I can barely carry a tune in a bucket, and my dancin’ days are long gone. But it’s kinda excitin’, seein’ all these young folks chasin’ their dreams. Reminds me of when I was young, always dreamin’ of somethin’ bigger, somethin’ better.
So, if you got a kid who’s always hummin’ and tappin’ their feet, maybe this HYBE audition is somethin’ they should look into. Who knows, they might just be the next big thing. And if they make it big, maybe they’ll remember their old granny and buy me a new set of pots and pans. A girl can dream, can’t she?
They’re lookin’ for all sorts, not just singers. Dancers too, and I guess people who can do both. They got these hashtags too, #HYBEGEFFENSTEEZY, whatever that means. Young folks and their fancy words, I tell ya.
But yeah, this HYBE entertainment audition seems like a pretty big deal. Lots of kids tryin’ out, lots of cities involved, and a whole lotta hoopla. If you’re young and talented, or you know someone who is, it might be worth checkin’ out. You never know what might happen. Shoot for the stars, that’s what I always say. Even if you land on the moon, that ain’t too shabby, right?
And even if you don’t make it, hey, at least you tried. Nothin’ wrong with givin’ it a shot. Life’s too short to be sittin’ around wishin’ you had done somethin’. So go on, give it a whirl, you might just surprise yourself. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be watchin’ you on TV, singin’ and dancin’ your heart out. That would be somethin’, wouldn’t it?

This whole “Dream Academy” thing they’re doin’, sounds like a lot of work, but if you wanna be famous, I guess that’s what it takes. Hard work and a whole lotta luck. That’s what my old pappy used to say, anyway. And he was a smart fella, even if he didn’t know nothin’ about singin’ and dancin’.
