So, listen up, you young’uns! I’m here to talk about this whole “download unavailable at the request of the Entertainment Software Association” thing. It’s a real head-scratcher, I tell ya!
I wanted to play some old games, you know, the ones like Pokemon, Super Mario Bros, Zelda, or that scary one, Resident Evil. But when I went to get ’em, it said “download unavailable”. What’s that all about? Makes my old head spin, trying to figure it out.
This fella named Vimm, he used to have all the games, and I mean all of them, like on that old PlayStation 2, the Wii, and the Xbox. But now? Poof! Gone! Said somethin’ about June 1st, around 7 in the mornin’. Something about the Entertainment Software Association, or ESA for short, I guess that’s some big important group. Said they asked him to stop. Can you believe that?
I’m no computer whiz, I just want to play my games. Heard some folks say maybe my internet’s acting up. Could be. Sometimes it’s slower than a snail in molasses.
Or maybe it’s that antivirus thingamajig. You know, the one that’s supposed to keep the bad stuff out. Maybe it thinks these games are bad? Don’t make no sense to me. These games are older than dirt!
- Maybe my computer’s just full.
- Too many pictures of the grandkids, I suppose.
- Gotta make room for those games.
They say this ESA has all the big game companies, like Nintendo and some others. Guess they don’t want us playing these old games no more. They want us to buy new ones, I reckon. But those new games, they’re too complicated! Give me the old ones any day.
I tried to get this God of War – Origins Collection for the PS3. That’s the one! Blocked! Said “Download unavailable at the request of the Entertainment Software Association“. They’re really serious about this, ain’t they? Seems like they’re targeting all the good old games.
Some folks on that Reddit thing, they were talkin’ about it. They said this Vimm fella took down the God of War game ’cause of the ESA. And somethin’ about this being related to some “NoA request”. What’s a NoA, anyway? Is it related to the Entertainment Software Association? I just don’t know. My head’s spinning like a top with all these things.
Another thing I heard was about this Metal Gear Solid 4 game, also for the PS3. People were lookin’ for it, but it was gone too. Same message: “Download unavailable at the request of the Entertainment Software Association.” It’s like these games are disappearin’ faster than cookies at a church social!
I just want to play my games! Is that too much to ask? I remember the days when these things were easy to get. This Vimm’s Lair place was like a treasure chest. Now, it’s like it was, but not anymore.
- They used to have a download button, clear as day.
- Now it’s just that message about the ESA.
- This Vimm’s Lair was one of the oldest places for these games.
I ain’t givin’ up, though. I’m gonna figure this out. Maybe one of you young folks can help an old lady out. How do I get around this “download unavailable” thing? I just want to play some Super Mario, is that so wrong?
I heard that Nintendo is a part of this ESA group. So maybe that’s why all the Nintendo games are gone. It’s like they’re all in cahoots! They want to control what we play, I guess. Just like how many companies are members of the Entertainment Software Association.
I miss the old days when things were simple. You wanted a game, you went and got it. Now, there’s all these rules and messages and groups like this ESA makin’ things complicated.
Well, I’m gonna keep lookin’. Maybe I’ll find another place to get these games. Or maybe I’ll just have to learn how to play those newfangled ones. But I’m tellin’ ya, they ain’t the same. These old games, they had heart. They were fun. And now, it’s like they’re tryin’ to take that away from us, with this “download unavailable at the request of the Entertainment Software Association” nonsense.
If you young’uns know anything about this, you let me know. An old lady could use some help. I just want to play my games, and I ain’t gonna let some fancy association tell me I can’t! I think I need to learn more about this Entertainment Software Association and how to deal with this “download unavailable” problem.
