Alright, so, I’ve been trying to catch a Centennial football game for a while now. You know, just experience the whole high school football scene. I finally got around to it, and let me tell you, it was something else.
First off, I did a bit of digging online. Seems like the Centennial High School football team, the Cougars, are pretty well-known. They’ve got games scheduled from mid-August all the way through November. I figured I’d need to grab a ticket, so I went on to that GoFan website to check out the prices and stuff.
I found out that they have their schedule online. I found out that the football program is for students in grades 9-12. The season begins in mid-August and runs through the state tournament in late November.
The day of the game rolled around, and I headed over to the stadium. I made sure to get to the gate a bit early, just like they suggested. Didn’t want any trouble getting in. Bought my ticket, waited in line, the usual drill. But I made a mental note: don’t validate that digital ticket until the staff gives you the thumbs up.
I saw a sign saying “Senior Citizens MUST purchase tickets for any post season”. I thought it was funny. I am not a senior citizen.
The atmosphere was electric. The stands were packed with students, parents, you name it. Everyone was decked out in the school colors, cheering their hearts out. It was pretty contagious, I gotta say. Even I, a newbie to this whole thing, started getting into it.
Now, I also heard that if you can’t make it to the game, you can watch it live on the NFHS Network. They even have a dedicated page for Centennial. Good to know for the future, I guess.
The game itself was a blast. Lots of action, some great plays, and the crowd was really into it. It was definitely an experience, and I’m glad I finally made it out to a game.
Here’s what I learned:
- Tickets: You can buy them on GoFan. Don’t activate them until staff tell you.
- Schedule: You can find it online. Games are from mid-August to late November.
- Watch Online: Can’t go? Watch on NFHS Network. They have a Centennial page.
Overall, it was a fun night. I might just become a regular at these games. There’s something about that high school football spirit, you know? It’s just good, wholesome fun.
