Okay, so the other day I was trying to find the roster for the Brazilian men’s volleyball team, you know, just for fun. I started by searching for it online, and I found some names.

I saw that Fernando Gil Kreling, who’s a setter, plays for Vero Volley Monza. The guy was in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and won the 2019 World Cup. Pretty cool, right? And there’s this other guy, Thales Gustavo Hoss, a libero, playing for LUK Lublin. I figured these two must be on the team.
Then I stumbled upon a list of players from an older roster: Dusty Dvorak, Dave Saunders, Steven Salmons, Paul Sunderland, and a few others. It wasn’t what I was looking for, but it was interesting to see the history.
Trying to Make Sense of It All
I also learned that as of July 23, 2023, Poland is the top-ranked team. That made me even more curious about where Brazil stands. I found a database of Brazilian volleyball players, which was a bit overwhelming with 2829 names! I tried to filter it, but it wasn’t as easy as I thought.
There was some mention of a schedule, results, and statistics on a sports website, but my browser, Internet Explorer 11, had some trouble displaying it correctly. Ugh, technology, right? Also, I dug up some info about the Volleyball Nations League 2023. Apparently, they announced the first six players for the Brazilian team, and the head coach is Renan Dal Zotto. It was a start, but I wanted the full picture.
Putting the Pieces Together
I kept digging, and I finally found a more recent team roster. It had players like:
- Setters: Fernando Kreling, Bruno Rezende
- Opposites: Alan Souza, Felipe Roque
- Outside Hitters: Ricardo Lucarelli, Yoandy Leal, Adriano Cavalcante
- Middle Blockers: Lucas Saatkamp, Isac Santos, Flavio Gualberto
- Liberos: Thales Hoss, Maique Nascimento
It took a while, but piecing together the information from different sources finally gave me a clearer idea of the current Brazilian men’s volleyball team. It’s always fun to follow these things, even if it takes a bit of detective work!
