Okay, so, I’ve been following baseball for a while now, and yesterday I watched the Braves vs. Blue Jays game. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a wild ride. I set up everything to watch it in the afternoon. I grabbed some snacks, got comfortable on my couch, and turned on the TV.
I started watching the game, and right off the bat, it was clear this wasn’t going to be an easy one for the Braves. I mean, I was hoping for a good game, but it quickly turned into a bit of a nightmare. The Blue Jays were just hitting everything. I remember yelling at the TV, “Come on, guys, wake up!”
So, this rookie pitcher for the Braves, Spencer Schwellenbach, he’s been pretty good this season, you know? But yesterday, man, he was just off. Every time he threw the ball, it seemed like the Blue Jays were ready for it. I was like, “What’s going on with him today?” It got so bad that I started pacing around my living room. I couldn’t sit still. It was frustrating, to say the least.
And then, in the bottom of the 9th, I thought maybe, just maybe, the Braves could pull something off. But nope, Danny Jansen from the Blue Jays hit a two-run single. Game over. I just sat there, stunned. I mean, a walk-off single? Really?
After the game ended, I just sat there for a while, processing what had happened. I went online to check out some highlights and read some recaps. I saw that Bo Bichette had also hit a go-ahead single in the 7th inning. I guess that should’ve been a sign of how things were going to go. It was just one of those games where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.
I also found out this game was on Fox Sports. I should have watched it there, maybe then the braves won’t lose. I also saw some stats about the Blue Jays. Apparently, their games this season have been averaging two hours and 45 minutes. I also learned that the Blue Jays had their most wins in a season back in 1985. That’s a long time ago. Makes me wonder if they’re going to have another great season this year.
It was a tough loss, especially since it knocked the Braves out of the postseason position. I was pretty bummed out, but hey, that’s baseball, right? You win some, you lose some. I’m still a Braves fan, though. I’ll be watching their next game, hoping for a better outcome. Maybe they’ll have better luck against Spencer Horwitz and the Blue Jays next time on September 8th. They should learn something from Chris Sale.
Anyway, that’s my story about the Braves vs. Blue Jays game. It was a tough one, but I’m still looking forward to the next game. After all, that’s the great thing about baseball – there’s always another game to look forward to.
