Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get back into shape, and I remembered those “bones sports” things I saw online. You know, those workout routines that supposedly use your skeleton in a “natural” way. Sounds kinda cool, right? So, I decided to give it a shot.

My “Bones Sports” Experiment
First, I looked up some basic exercises. Found a bunch of stuff – everything from weird stretches to intense-looking poses. Honestly, it was a little overwhelming.
I decided to start slow. No point in breaking a bone (pun intended!) on day one. I picked a few simple stretches that focused on, like, spine flexibility and hip rotation. Things I figured my desk-bound body desperately needed.
- First up, this weird spinal twist thing. You basically lie on your back and try to touch your knee to the opposite shoulder. Felt kinda good, actually.
- Then, I tried this hip-opening stretch. It involved sitting with the soles of my feet together and gently pushing down on my knees. My hips were NOT happy about that one.
- Tried some basic poses in the mirror, and there are really many basic movements that I have been ignoring, I re-practiced them.
I did this routine for about 20 minutes. Honestly, I felt… okay. Not like I’d suddenly become a super-athlete, but definitely a bit looser. My back felt a little less stiff, which was a win.
The next day, I was a little sore. Nothing major, just that “I used muscles I forgot I had” kind of soreness. I took it as a sign that I was doing something right.
So, I kept at it for a week. I added a few more exercises, gradually increasing the intensity. I even tried one of those balance poses where you stand on one leg and do… something. I almost fell over, so maybe I’ll hold off on that one for a while.
After a week, I can’t say I’m ready to run a marathon. But I do feel better. More aware of my body, I guess. And a little less like a creaky old robot. It’s kinda nice to move in ways that feel… natural, I suppose.

I’m gonna keep going with this “bones sports” thing. Maybe I’ll even try some of the more advanced stuff eventually. But for now, I’m happy just stretching and twisting and not falling over. Baby steps, right?
