Well, I was looking for something to kill some time the other day. You know how it is, scrolling through endless apps on my phone. I figured, why not try a sports game? I’ve always liked volleyball, so I decided to see what kind of volleyball games they had for Android.
First, I went to the Google Play Store and just typed in “volleyball games.” Man, there were tons of them! I started by downloading a few that had high ratings and looked interesting, like this one called “Volley Beans” that sounded kind of funny, and another one with some really realistic-looking graphics.
- Volley Beans: This one was more on the cartoony side, but it was actually pretty fun. The goal was to beat like 100 different players from around the world.
- Another one: I can’t remember the name, but it looked more like a real volleyball match, you know? The graphics were pretty slick.
I spent a good chunk of time just trying out different games. Some were super basic, like, you just tap the screen to hit the ball. Others were more complex, where you had to actually, like, position your players and choose different types of shots. It was a whole range of stuff.
After playing a bunch, I realized that some of these games are actually pretty good for practicing, too! I mean, you can’t replace the real thing, but they do help you work on your timing and strategy. You can kind of get a feel for how to position yourself and where to hit the ball, all that stuff.
So, what did I learn?
Well, there are way more volleyball games out there than I thought! And they’re not all the same, which is cool. You’ve got your simple, arcade-style games, and then you’ve got your more realistic simulations. It really just depends on what you’re in the mood for. I even found out that volleyball and this other game called “Newcomb ball” were both invented in the same year! Crazy, right?
Honestly, if you’re a volleyball fan and you’ve got some time to kill, I’d say check out some of these games. You might be surprised at how much fun they are. And hey, you might even improve your game a little bit in the process!
