Okay, so I wanted to find some local volleyball games, like, just for fun and exercise. I’m no pro, just looking for some casual pickup games. Here’s how I went about it.

My Search Game Plan
First, I fired up my phone. No surprise there, right?
I opened up the search engine and typed in “pickup volleyball games near me”. Pretty straightforward, I thought.
Sifting Through the Results
The search engine spit out a bunch of results. A lot of them, actually. It was kind of overwhelming at first.
- I saw some listings for organized leagues. Those seemed a bit too serious for what I was looking for.
- There were a few results for local parks and recreation departments. I made a mental note to check those out later.
- I also found indoor gyms and sport facilities.
Digging Deeper
I started clicking on some of the more promising-looking results, mostly the parks and rec ones. I figured those would be the most likely to have casual games.
I scrolled through their websites, looking for any mention of “drop-in” or “pickup” volleyball. Some of them had calendars, which was helpful. I checked out a calendar.
My Findings (and Next Steps)
I found out time slot that one park near my place has open volleyball play on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Sweet! Seems like exactly what I was looking for.

So, next Tuesday, I’m gonna head over there, volleyball in hand, and see what’s up. Hopefully, there will be a good group of people and I can jump in on a game. Wish me luck!
