Okay, so yesterday was a blast! I finally got around to organizing that outdoor volleyball game I’ve been talking about for ages. Here’s how it all went down.

Getting the Ball Rolling
First things first, I picked a date and sent out some texts. Seriously, just casual invites – nothing fancy. Gotta keep it chill, you know? Thankfully, most of my buddies were free, which was awesome.
Then came the slightly trickier part: finding a good spot. We needed somewhere with enough flat, grassy space. I remembered this park near my place that seemed perfect. I drove over there a few days before to double-check, made sure there were no surprise potholes or anything, and, thankfully, everything looked good.
Setting Up the Game
Game day! I packed up my volleyball, a net I borrowed from a friend, and some water bottles. I made sure to bring some extra water, it was a pretty hot day. Oh, and bug spray – important detail! Don’t want everyone getting eaten alive by mosquitos.
- Volleyball: check.
- Net: check.
- Water: Double check.
- Bug spray: Yup.
We all met up at the park, and setting up the net was surprisingly easy. A couple of us figured it out pretty quick – just your basic, stand-up net. Then, we divided into teams. It was all pretty random, just trying to make it somewhat even. We were not playing for the olympics, after all!
Game Time!
And then… we played! It was a total mess, in the best way possible. Lots of missed serves, clumsy dives, and way too much laughter. Nobody was keeping score, seriously, we were just having fun, so the pressure was off. We played for a solid two hours, maybe a bit more. Just running around, diving for the ball (sometimes successfully!), and enjoying the sunshine.
Wrapping Up
Finally, everyone was pretty tired and sweaty, so we called it a day. We took down the net, gathered our stuff, and, best of all, nobody got hurt! That’s always a win, right? I drove some people back home, and then I spent a very relaxing evening on the couch, totally exhausted but happy.

All in all, a super successful outdoor volleyball day. Definitely gonna do it again soon!
