Okay, so I’ve been getting into this volleyball game on my PS4 lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’m not a pro gamer or anything, but I enjoy a good sports game now and then. I grabbed this game called “Spike Volleyball” because, well, I like volleyball. I figured, “How hard can it be?”
First off, I started with the tutorial, which was kinda helpful. It showed me the basics like serving, passing, setting, and spiking. The controls seemed simple enough: buttons for each action, and the left stick to move my players around.
Learning Curve
But man, when I jumped into my first actual match, it was a whole different story. My players were all over the place, missing easy balls, and just generally looking like they’d never seen a volleyball before. I was losing badly, like really, really badly.
It took a few matches (and some serious frustration) to start getting the hang of it. Timing is everything in this game. You gotta press the buttons at just the right moment to make a decent play. I messed this up so many times at the beginning. I was like, “Why isn’t my player hitting the ball?”
Getting Better
After some practice, I started to see some improvement. I was actually winning some points, and even a few sets! It felt amazing to finally spike the ball past the other team’s blockers.
There are like 50 different national teams in the game, both men’s and women’s, which is pretty cool. I tried out a few different teams to see which ones I liked best. Each team has their own stats, so some are better at offense, while others are stronger on defense.
Tournaments and Career Mode
I also started playing in tournaments, which are super competitive. It’s a whole different level of gameplay. You gotta bring your A-game if you want to win. And then there’s career mode, which is like a whole journey. You can manage your team, train your players, and try to become the best in the world. I haven’t gotten very far in career mode yet, but it’s definitely something I want to explore more.
Playing with Friends
- I even convinced a couple of friends to play with me. We had some hilarious local multiplayer matches.
- It’s way more fun playing with people you know, even if they’re also just figuring out the game like me.
- Online multiplayer is another option, but I haven’t tried that yet. I’m still kinda scared of getting destroyed by some pros out there.
All in all, this volleyball game on PS4 has been a fun, albeit challenging, experience. It’s definitely not as easy as it looks, but that’s part of what makes it rewarding. I still have a lot to learn, but I’m enjoying the process. If you’re looking for a volleyball game that’s more than just button-mashing, you might want to check this one out. Just be prepared to put in some practice!
