Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get back in shape, and I finally decided to just do it. I started this whole “body sporting” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I’m documenting it all, because, why not? Maybe it’ll motivate someone else, or maybe I’ll just look back at this and laugh at myself later.

Phase 1: The “Oh God, What Have I Done?” Phase
First, I dusted off my old running shoes. Seriously, they were in the back of the closet, gathering dust bunnies. I found some workout clothes that, surprisingly, still fit (mostly). Then, I stepped outside. It was early, like, really early. The sun was barely up, and I felt like a zombie.
- Day 1: I tried to run. I made it about two blocks before I thought my lungs were going to explode. I walked the rest of the way, feeling defeated.
- Day 2: I decided to try some bodyweight exercises. Push-ups? Nope. Sit-ups? Barely. I felt every single one of my muscles screaming at me.
- Day 3: I dragged myself out of bed again. I managed a slightly longer run, and I didn’t completely fail at the push-ups this time. Small victories!
Phase 2: The “Okay, Maybe I Can Do This” Phase
After the first week, things started to get a little easier. I wasn’t waking up feeling like I’d been hit by a truck anymore. I even started to enjoy the early morning air (who am I?).
I added some new exercises to my routine: squats, lunges, and planks. Planks are the worst, by the way. I swear, time slows down when you’re planking. But I pushed through it. I even invested in some cheap dumbbells, just to mix things up a bit.
- Week 2: I am not sure I can continue,I still felt so * I told my self to hold on.
- Week3: I found myself actually looking forward to my workouts. Weird, right? I was still struggling, but I felt stronger, more energized. I even noticed my clothes fitting a little looser.
Phase 3: The “I’m Actually Doing This!” Phase
Now, I’m a few weeks in, and I’m not stopping. I’ve established a routine that works for me. I alternate between running and strength training. I’m not perfect, and I still have days where I want to just stay in bed, but I keep going.
I realized that it is a long way to archive my goal, but I will keep going.
The biggest thing I’ve learned so far? It’s not about being perfect; it’s about showing up. Even if I have a bad workout, I still did something. And that’s better than nothing. So, yeah, that’s my “body sporting” journey so far. It’s messy, it’s sweaty, and it’s definitely a work in progress. But I’m doing it.
