So, I really wanted to play some basketball the other day. It’s been a while, and I was itching to shoot some hoops. But I didn’t know any courts nearby. I live in a new area, you see.
First thing I did was whip out my phone and did a quick search online. Typed in “parks near me with basketball courts,” and a bunch of results popped up.
Then I read through some local park websites and saw that a couple of them had basketball courts. Some even had pictures, which was helpful. One park, about 1.5 miles away, had an outdoor track as well as basketball courts, which seemed awesome.
I also found an app called InfiniteHoops, which seemed pretty cool. It finds pickup basketball games nearby. Downloaded that, and it showed a few games happening later that day. Nice!
After checking out the reviews, I saw people mentioned this one park, “a great local park located two blocks from Serramonte Mall.” Sounded promising, so I marked it on my map.
Then I looked into some indoor courts. Found a few places where you can rent them out. I thought maybe I could get some friends together and book a court sometime.
Finally, I decided to visit the park near Serramonte Mall. Drove there, and it was perfect! The court was in good condition, and there were a few people already playing. Joined them for a game, and it was a blast.
I also checked the other park with the outdoor track and basketball court. Turns out it was pretty awesome. I went for a run around the track, and afterwards shot some hoops with some kids there.
I now have options for playing basketball close by, and I’m happy I got to play again. I will definitely play basketball again soon.
