Alright, so the other day I was trying to catch up on the Asian Games, specifically the volleyball matches. I’ve always been a huge fan of volleyball, and the Asian Games, man, it’s like the Olympics of Asia!
First things first, I had to figure out where to get the schedule. I remember a while back, maybe it was 1949, someone named Guru Dutt Sondhi proposed the motto “Ever Onward” for the Asian Games. Pretty cool, right? Anyway, it got me thinking about how long volleyball has been in these games.
Turns out, the men’s volleyball has been a part of the Asian Games since way back in 1958, starting in Tokyo. The women joined in a bit later, in 1962 in Jakarta. So, I knew I was diving into a sport with a lot of history in this competition.
Next, I started hunting for the schedule for this year’s games. I wanted the whole deal, you know? The teams, the standings, the whole nine yards. I heard this year’s games started on September 19th, 2023, and I also heard Iran is the current title holder. Gotta give them props!
Finding the right information wasn’t that easy. I dug around a few different places.
- First, I tried to find something that would give me a live update, like a live score page. I wanted to see who was playing right then and there.
- Then, I looked for a full schedule, the kind that tells you what matches are coming up in the future. That way I could plan my viewing accordingly.
- I even tried to find some general info about the teams and their standings, just to get a feel for who the top dogs were.
Finally, I managed to find a few places that had most of what I was looking for. It wasn’t all in one spot, which was a bit of a pain, but hey, that’s the internet for you. One site had the live scores, another had the upcoming matches, and I pieced together the rest from a couple of other sources.
Once I had all the info, I started following the games. It’s been a blast watching these incredible athletes battle it out on the court. The level of competition is insane, and the passion these players have is just awesome to see.
All in all, it took a bit of digging, but I finally got myself sorted and I’m really enjoying the Asian Games volleyball this year. It’s always fun to follow a sport with such a rich history in a major event like this. It’s been a wild ride so far, and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out!
