Okay, here’s my attempt at writing a blog post in the requested style:
Alright, so the other day I got this crazy idea: Could I find out about the longest volleyball game ever? I mean, we’ve all been in those matches that feel like they go on forever, right? But I’m talking about the real record-breaker.
So, first thing I did was hit up the internet, you know, the usual Google search. Typed in “longest game of volleyball” – boom! A bunch of stuff popped up, but the one that caught my eye mentioned Guinness World Records.
Digging into the Details
Turns out, these folks in the Netherlands, back in December 2011, they went all out. I mean, these guys from SVU Volleybal, apperantly are the ones who actually played in longest game. They played for a mind-blowing 85 hours! Can you even imagine?
I started picturing myself trying to play volleyball for that long. My legs would probably fall off after, like, hour two, I would need so much food to keep me going!
- They played 63 matches.
- It went on for 338 sets.
- They scored a ridiculous 14,635 points in total.
I kept thinking about the snacks. I’d need an endless supply of, I don’t know,protein bars… maybe a few pizzas… definitely a lot of water. And coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
But seriously, 85 hours. That’s more than three days straight! I’ve had naps longer than some regular volleyball matches. These people must have been completely exhausted, but also probably super proud of themselves. I mean, it’s a Guinness World Record!
So there you go, a little time spent searching gave me the down-low on the longest volleyball game. Pretty wild, huh?
